KidSummer @ Pizza Pizza - A Huge Success!!

Wow!! Everyone, young or old, should experience making a pizza at Pizza Pizza - after all, I personally don't know of anyone who doesn't like to eat pizza (it is basically bread and cheese - yum!). The experience of getting your own hands into the dough: kneading it, trying to toss it (like in the movies), and making your own personalized pizza... well, there is nothing like it! The best part, of course, was eating our creations. Flour, sauce, cheese and pepperoni, may have gotten all over the kids, besides on the floor, but fun was had by all. It is good for the children to see how the pizza is prepared before it arrives at their home in a box. Ths staff were simply fantastic! Under the leadership of Ben Campoli, director of training at Pizza Pizza University, the staff were patient, enthusiastic and helpful with all participants (children as well as parents!). It was a pleasant surprise to find out that everyone, inlcuding the adults, were to experience making their own pizza and taking it home.

Today's Parent KidSummer CBC Event 07/08/09

As a parent, my personal view is that this is a TOTALLY WIN-WIN event for all parents and kids. Especially in this recessional economy of ours where monetary budget expenditure is a high priority, we can save a bundle at a lot of the events which does not even require admission fee.

It is so cool having Today’s Parent Kidsummer team open up many possibilities to help all of us enjoy our school vacation summer months namely July and August of each year. If not for Kidsummer, I would be knocking my brains out on how to keep my kid occupied with FUN.instead of BOREDOM.

We would probably miss a lot of the fun if not for this group of hard workers who try their utmost best to CREATE FUN.

So, Kidsummer TEAM …..FOUR THUMBS UP (for both me & my kid) ….

2009 Kid Summer Introduction

As school ends and the sun comes out, the task of evolving a rather dull stay-at-home summer vacation into an eventful, fun, and memorable two months clings to parents, guardians, babysitters, and other child-caretakers all around Toronto. Thankfully, back for its 23^rd year is Kid Summer. In association with Today’s Parent Magazine (http://www.todaysparent.com/), a Rogers publication, Kid Summer is hosting fun summer events all throughout the GTA and Southern Ontario. With the Kid Summer Calendar (http://www.kidsummer.com/calendar/calendar.aspx), families can plan for the future or even hop to an event at the spur of the moment.

While attending these events throughout July 1^st to August 31st, visitors will be met by the various Kid Summer program sponsors. This is where the 2009 Kid Summer ambassadors come in! Tents will be set up throughout the day’s location including Ontario Tourism (www.ontariotravel.net/family), Burt’s Bees (http://www.burtsbees.ca), Kumon (http://www.kumon.com/), Clorox (http://www.clorox.ca/), Tetra Pak (http://www.tetrapak.ca/), and of course, Today’s Parent.

At these various tents, families can attempt to win a free Roots backpack with great getaway information from Ontario Tourism, receive wonderful skin-care products from Burt’s Bees, play soccer with a mathematical twist with Kumon, play in the Toy testing zone powered by Clorox, receive free samples of Nesquik chocolate milk (which is stored in 100% recyclable drinking-boxes) from Tetra Pak, and even get a beautiful picture printed out and framed at the Today’s Parent tent.
